Reviews:

Code 4109 is thus a departure for Krush. It's his first mix album, yet has that abstract Krush watermark, sliding from old school hip-hop classics (The Legion's "Jingle Jangle") to sultry jazzhop ("Coffee Talk" by Jazzanova) to Japanese hip-hop from Krush's posse of MCs (The Blue Herb's "Chie no Wa," Ryu's "ilektrik") with gooey, head-nodding style. Mixed straight to tape, with no overdubs, Code 4019 is a great mix album and an interesting insight into a DJ's taste. Code 4109 is a perfect "head" album, and fans of independent hip-hop will find a number of obscure tracks here.

Review: Q (4/00): - 3 stars out of 5 - "...a collection of minimalist jazz-skewed hip-hop pieces, generally of the sample rather than vocal-led variety....elegant and elaborate..."
